Even Shraddha (Kapoor) gave a commendable performance this year,” he says. Trade expert Atul Mohan, whose top pick is Alia Bhatt, adds: “ Kangana also surprised us all with Queen.”

For trade expert Amod Mehra, too, Kangana, beautiful Diva has been a stand-out performer this year, along with actor Priyanka Chopra. “Both of them are the Divas of the year. Also, Alia Bhatt gained popularity and box –office success, and Deepika (Padukone) sustained her success rate this year with Happy New Year,” he explains.

Despite many heroines such as Katrina Kaif having one release this year, Mohan points out that younger actresses may have taken over now.

But some veterans did make a mark. “Rani Mukerji gave us stellar performance in Mardaani. She deserves a special mention in this list,” he says
