Raytheon Defense Contractor company is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States and it was founded by Vannevar Bush, Laurence K. Marshall and Charles G. Smith in 1922. Laurence K Marshall and Vannevar Bush were roommates and alma matter of Tufts University School of Engineering.

Charles G Smith was a scientist who was working on the electrical properties of gases.
