On this day the devotees move to the temples for offering milk with Gangajal (holy water), bel petra(tree leaves), rice and sweet candy(mishri).devotees do fast on this day on the celebration and getting blessings of wedding of shiv and Parvati doing fast on this day is very beneficiary and healthy. at the mid night of maha shiv ratri devotees do shiv stuti(lord Shiva prayer in Sanskrit),abhishek(bath of lord Shiva statue) and kirtan(divine song of lord shiva name). and its said that lord Shiva and Parvati roam the earth in their wedding possession in the mid night of maha Shivratri.
